Winter Solstice Run

Athletics Yukon is hosting the annual Grey Mountain Winter Solstice Run/Walk on Saturday to celebrate the shortest day of the year. Length approximately 12km. The run starts at ten o'clock in the morning. It follows the Grey Mountain Road past the rifle range and before the Northwestel Road. Participants meet at the upper parking lot where you will see race organizers. There is no fee but people are asked to donate non-perishable food items for the Whitehorse Food Bank.

Canada Day in Yukon

A parade down 2nd Avenue ends at noon at Shipyards Park in Whitehorse, where ceremonies and celebrations will take place throughout the afternoon. Dawson City celebrates Canada Day with a parade, a barbecue, and the annual Gold Panning Championships. Watson Lake has kid's activities, a humongous cake, horseshoes, a candy drop and so much more at Lucky Lake Park.
