The Yukon Beringia Interpretive Centre is pleased to announce the Ice Age Mammals Traveling Exhibition that will be presented at the Yukon Arts Centre, featuring a variety of Yukon artworks and fossils including the palaeoartworks of George “Rinaldino” Teichmann. His work brings long gone animals and landscapes to life with the help of Yukon palaeontologists. Winter Solstice Run

Athletics Yukon is hosting the annual Grey Mountain Winter Solstice Run/Walk on Saturday to celebrate the shortest day of the year. Length approximately 12km. The run starts at ten o’clock in the morning. It follows the Grey Mountain Road past the rifle range and before the Northwestel Road. Participants meet at the upper parking lot where you will see race organizers. There is no fee but people are asked to donate non-perishable food items for the Whitehorse Food Bank.

The Yukon Quest is an annual international dog sled race that covers territory between Whitehorse, Yukon and Fairbanks, Alaska. This year’s race starts in Whitehorse on February 7th, and the mushers and their teams will arrive in Fairbanks 10-16 days later.

Yukon River Quest Canoe and Kayak Race

Yukon 1000 Canoe and Kayak Race

July 18, 2016

The Yukon 1000 is the longest canoe and kayak race in the world. Participants paddle along the Yukon River for 1600 km (1000 mi) from Whitehorse to the Alaska Pipeline / Dalton Highway, and can expect to paddle 18 hours a day for 7 to 12 days straight. The race leaves on July 18 from Whitehorse.

A creative writing workshop that takes place on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm at the Rah Rah Gallery. Come join us to work that creative muscle in a warm and supportive environment. This is a guided creative writing workshop using prompts to inspire, engage, and explore. Bring your favourite journal and a pen and get ready to write.Admission by donation.
