Dempster Highway

 

Skagway, with a population of 862, is located at the northernmost point on the Inside Passage in Southeast Alaska, 100 air miles north of Juneau and 110 road miles south of Whitehorse, Yukon Territory.

To get here by road, the Klondike Highway connects Skagway to the Yukon and the rest of the Alaska Highway (open year-round). The highway is paved and is rated to carry overweight truck traffic. To get here by air, Skagway is served by scheduled and charter services from Whitehorse, Juneau and Haines.
