The town of Watson Lake has a new web site:
Watson
Lake, located in the southeast
corner of Yukon, is home to 1,600 people. A town that grew from its
beginnings as a service centre for American army engineers building
the Alaska Highway. Watson Lake now boasts an economy that includes
tourism, forestry, oil and gas exploration, and a variety of service
industries.
The community supports well-established
infrastructure including a modern airport, local hospital, elementary
and high school facilities.
Watson Lake provides a number of modern recreation
amenities for local residents including a bowling alley, curling club,
hockey arena, swimming pool, squash courts & weight room. Watson
Lake Community Library provides resources and assistance to the local
community and visitors to the region.
