| Education from elementary to post secondary is available in Watson Lake. Johnson Elementary School has a capacity of 300, and Watson Lake Secondary School has a capacity of 250. Like all Yukon schools, the core curriculum (80%) follows the British Columbia Ministry of Education, and students are eligible to write BC departmental exams. |

| The campus, located in a separate wing of the secondary school, provides the community with courses in academic upgrading, computer skills, and first aid. It is a resource for information on student financial aid and other colleges and universities. It also provides job related training in the areas of entry level trades, office administration, accounting, and Early Childhood Education. It has a computer lab with approximately 20 computers with dedicated Internet access. Yukon College is used as a meeting place for many groups and organizations and is equipped with teleconferencing capabilities. |

| Located on the Robert Campbell Highway just a short walk from the Signpost Forest, Watson Lake Secondary School is home to students from grades 8 to 12. |

Johnson Elementary School, located at the intersection of 8th St. North and Ravenhill Drive, educates students from kindergarten to grade 7. The school is staffed by nine classroom teachers, a principal, a vice- principal, one remedial tutor, five educational assistants, a counselor, and an information technology teacher. Once a month, the school hosts the Family Art and Games Project for students kindergarten to grade 7. The purpose of this event is to promote student interaction between the grade divisions. A computer lab, intramural sports, a SADD (Students Against Drunk Driving) chapter, a part time dental program, and an in-school lunch program for all students are an integral part of the foundation of JES. |
