Grey Mountain Road Hike

Hikers enjoy the view from Grey Mountain Road (about 11 kilometres up the road) on Boxing Day, 2014. Photo by Christa Galloway.

You’ve got to love a city where you can drive 12 km from downtown and be walking on a mountain side with breathtaking views. Although driving parts of Grey Mountain Road can be a bit daunting in the winter after a snowfall, it makes an excellent hike. Further up the road is Grey (Canyon) Mountain trail, where you can hike 2.5km to the summit. Grey Mountain Road can be accessed from Alsek Road in Riverdale, Whitehorse.
