While the word “eskimo” is no longer used and has been replaced by Inuit or Inuvialuit when describing a group of Indigenous people from the Circumpolar North, these fried dough favourites are still locally referred to as “eskimo donuts”. Their round shape and distinct 5-6 holes make them a unique and delicious authentic taste of the Arctic.
