WHITEHORSE
GETTING HERE
Fly the authentic way with Air North, the
Yukon’s Airline, from Vancouver, Victoria,
Kelowna, Calgary, Edmonton or Yellowknife.
Air North also offers flights from Whitehorse
to Dawson City, Old Crow and Inuvik.

Driving the Alaska Highway in the winter
is usually not a problem. Good winter tires
are essential as well as an emergency kit in
case you break down. Cell phone coverage
is sporadic, so dress for the weather in case
of a roadside emergency. Whitehorse is
kilometre 1,477 of the Alaska Highway.
The Alaska Marine Highway System runs
from Bellingham, Washington via Prince
Rupert, up the Inside Passage of Alaska
to Haines and Skagway, Alaska (two
hours driving time from Whitehorse). This
spectacular route is travelled winter and
summer. Be prepared to plan your visit
around the ferry schedule because winter
service is variable.
